“Creativity is the ability to see relationships when none exist.”
Thomas Disch
Technology transfer is the movement of a specific set of capabilities along a value chain from one entity to another, evolving into a product. The value chain is a series of steps taken to move from concept to fully commercialized product sold to customers.
This process involves initiating interactions between source and adopters, agreeing on a shared vision, documented in a contract of mutual wins, then transitioning the technology from source to adopter. It is not complete until the adopter of the new concept has proven its ability to produce and use the technology in a specific environment, to a specific set of standards, and to a particular level of performance.
Innovation Management Partners believes that the transfer of technology is a process of the mind more than the passing of a concrete legal right or physical prototype. A new technology or concept only truly resides in the minds of its creators, who have the ability to reproduce it, adapt it, and make it function as it was conceived to do.
From this viewpoint, we believe that it is essential to establish a strong bond of trust between the parties, and to remain a partner in the process to ensure that each party clearly understands its role and expected duties in the transfer process. We are dedicated to providing outstanding service in maintaining a two-way communication link between sources of technology and the adopters throughout the commercialization process, for maximum mutual benefit.
